About the Fellowship
The Brown Girls Do Ballet Community Dance Fellowship is a yearlong leadership and professional development program for college students actively involved in community-based dance programs. Designed for students passionate about dance, advocacy, and social impact, this fellowship supports emerging leaders as they develop and implement creative projects that uplift underserved communities through movement.
Fellows will gain mentorship, build valuable skills, and receive support to launch a community dance initiative—all while becoming part of a vibrant national network of like-minded artists and changemakers.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
Be a current college sophomore, junior, or senior (graduating May 2026 or later)
Be actively involved in community-based dance (teaching, performing, organizing, or advocacy)
Have a strong interest in arts-based social impact and leadership
Be available for the full academic year and able to commit 10–15 hours/month
Be based in the U.S. (remote participation is supported; travel is not required)

Personal Statement (500–750 words)
Dance & Community Engagement Resume
Short Community Project Proposal (250–300 words)
2 Letters of Recommendation
One academic (professor or dance instructor)
One community-based (community partner or leader familiar with your impact in dance)
Optional Video Introduction (2–3 minutes)
Timeline
