  1. How do I join your organization?

    • There are several ways to participate in Brown Girls Do Ballet. Please be more specific about your request so we can help you as best we can. 

  2. Where is your studio located?

    • Unfortunately, we are not a dance studio. We are a non-profit organization. 

    • However, if you are looking for a diverse studio in your area, please visit our website for a list of studios -- www.browngirlsdoballet.com/directory.

    • If no studio is listed near your area, please email info@browngirlsdoballet.com with the subject line "Studio location recommendation."

    • We will try to help you locate one near you. Please include your city (area) and state of preference. Thank you!

  4. Do you know where to find flesh-toned leotards or shoes?

    • We often recommend a company named Blendz. You can visit their website at blendzapparel.com.

  7. I live in (city, state). Where can I find a diverse studio?

    • If no studio is listed near your area, please email info@browngirlsdoballet.com with the subject line "Studio location recommendation."

  8. I contacted you through Facebook Messenger or Instagram but have not received a response. Is there another way to contact you?

    • We ask that you wait 48-72 hours for a response, not including weekends. You can also send an email to info@browngirlsdoballet.com.

  9. I (or my daughter) am new to ballet. Do you offer mentorship?

    • Unfortunately, we only offer direct mentorship through our junior ambassadors program. There is an application process once every year (in October) to be accepted. However, we are in the process of providing resources for dancers seeking mentorship. If you need assistance, please send an email to info@browngirlsdoballet.com with your request, along with details. 

    • Currently, we are referring those requesting mentorship ages 18+ to a program, Black Dance Change Makers. For more information, visit bit.ly/ChangeMakersMentorship or send an email to hello@blackdancechangemakers.com. 

  10. I (or my daughter) have been dancing for several years. How do we become an ambassador?

  11. I am the owner of a dance studio. How do I become a preferred member of your organization?

    • Please send an email to info@browngirlsdoballet.com with the subject "Preferred Studio." 

  12. I am a struggling parent (or dancer). Do you offer assistance with dance fees or uniforms?

    • We pride ourselves on having our Supply Closet program, where young dancers can receive free supplies donated by businesses and individuals. Please visit www.browngirlsdoballet.com/supplycloset for more information. 

  13. I am interested in your organization. Do you have volunteer opportunities?

    • We do not currently have any volunteer opportunities. However, you can check our website or social media for posted opportunities. 

  14. I want to be a sponsor. How do I find more information?

  15. I have been a dancer for several years. Do you offer scholarship opportunities for incoming college students?

  16. Do I have to live in Texas to use your services or qualify for your organization?

    • We operate throughout the United States and the UK. Please check our website or page for specific details of your program of choice. 

  17. I was applying for one of your scholarships, and the window appeared stating, "Sorry, but this form is no longer accepting submissions." What happened?

    • Unless otherwise stated, all of our applications close at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on the scholarship closing date. 

  18. I am a photographer. I would love to shoot one of your events.

  19. We are having a show and would love for your girls to perform. 

    • Unfortunately, we are not a dance company or studio. We are a non-profit organization.

  20. My dancer is having a dancer block and is no longer motivated. Can you help?

    • Have your dancer check out our IG or FB page to see others just like her! We also have our show Releve' on Facebook Watch! Hopefully, it will rekindle her flame for dance!

  21. Do you have any job openings or internship opportunities?

  22. We love what you are doing and would like to interview you. How do we contact you?

  24. Do you have any online dance classes or workshops available?

    • We post different online dance classes or workshops from some of our preferred dancers or studios. Continue to check our social media for upcoming events.

  25. My ballerina has a fantastic story, and I would like to share it. How do I contact you?

  26. I am interested in representation from BG Casting. What do I need to do?

    • To submit yourself for representation, please email a headshot, resume, and a dance demo to casting@browngirlsdoballet.com

    • Only complete submissions will be accepted for review.

  27. How do I apply to be a model or spokesperson for your brand?

    • Please email info@browngirlsdoballet.com with your name, age, city/state, dance studio information, and social media information. We have several talented brown ballerinas who may or may not be featured on our social media throughout the year. Thank you for your inquiry!

  28. How do I become an ambassador?

    • Jr. Ambassadors (ages 10-12) and Youth Ambassadors (ages 13-17) program is designed to create opportunities for young dancers in training to be seen as leaders and to eventually become mentors. They will submit various documents during our application period. Please check our website and socials often for deadlines.

  29. My organization would like to donate clothing and costumes to your organization. 

    • Please email info@browngirlsdoballet.com with the subject line "Clothing Donations." When emailing, please provide as much detail as possible, including contact information.

  30. Where can I get items or merchandise that I see your ambassadors displaying on your social media?

  31. I want to send a monetary donation. Where do I send the funds?

  32. Questions directed to our ambassador takeovers

    • You must be referring to when one of our ambassadors did their social media takeover. Unfortunately, the girls do not have access to Messenger.
