Ambassador/Mentorship

Chrystyn Fentroy, Charlie Reese, Ingrid Silva in a mentorship session

Brown Girls Do Ballet® believes that every Brown Ballerina with access to proper mentoring and training should have the opportunity to learn from, be inspired by, and be befriended by older, more experienced Brown Ballerinas. In this vein, we have elected to establish the Brown Ballerina Jr. and Youth Ambassador Programs.

Pointe Shoe Program

The Brown Girls Do Ballet®   Pointe Shoe Program helps offset one of the major costs associated with ballet: a dancer's pointe shoes. The average pair of pointe shoes costs $65-$120.  Pointe shoes last anywhere from a few hours up to 12 hours of dancing. We are proud to partner with major pointe shoe retailers  who have generously provided support to the  Pointe Shoe Initiative.  More information →

Supply Closet

Closet stocked with various supplies for ballet dancers

The Brown Girls Do Ballet® Supply Closet was created in response to natural disasters affecting both Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Houston, Texas displacing several dancers. Wanting to provide a sense of normalcy to young girls that were displaced as a result of flooding and hurricanes, the closet was purchased and stocked to gift items to those young dancers. More information →
