PointePeople™ is building products and a community that educate, empower and enrich dancers all over the world. Our vision is to see a world with happy and healthy dancers. No dancer should feel inferior because of the color of their skin, the shape of their body or their economic background - ever.
The Products
Pointe Paint
Pointe Paint is the first product introduced by PointePeople™. It is a dedicated pointe shoe and canvas technique slipper dye applicator. The genesis of Pointe Paint is in the philosophy that ballet dancers of all ethnicities should feel a sense of belonging to the art form and that dyeing shoes should be easy. It's a proclamation from us to dancers all over the world that we see you and we hear you.
The Community
From a community standpoint PointePeople maintains a blog (https://www.pointepeople.com/blogs/pointe-people) that covers four topics: Nourish, 411, Perspective and Food4Soul. Nourish highlights recipes and foods that nurture the body of a dancer; 411 provides commentary on current issues influencing the dance world; Perspective provides outlook of and guidance from experienced dancers and is a great source for sage advice and inspiration; and finally Food4Soul discusses the importance of mind-body wellness. Our editors/bloggers are experienced practitioners and maintain the high integrity of the blog.
Giving
We believe it is our responsibility as global citizens to give back. We chose the Na Ponta dos Pés school in the Morro do Adeus favela of Rio de Janeiro because we wholeheartedly believe in the vision of its founder, Tuany Nascimento. In 2010, Tuany began gathering girls from the favela for open ballet classes in a fenced-in basketball court. Here she gives girls a place to learn ballet, gain confidence, and stay out of trouble. For every bottle you purchase, PointePeople makes a donation to the development of a the Na Ponta dos Pés facilities.
