Brown Ballerina Ambassadors Share Mother's Day Appreciation
All dancers know that the magic of a performance doesn’t begin or end onstage. No, the real magic is behind the curtain, weeks before and after the show. The real magic happens in the dressing room, on the rides to and from rehearsals, in the pep talks after an audition rejection, and even in our memories.
It takes a village to make a dancer, and the magic happens when dancers are supported by their village. Without a strong village, there would be no dance community. That’s why we asked our Brown Ballerina Ambassadors to share a loving message to the mother figures in their lives.
We know this day may be difficult for some. We also know that oftentimes, the mother-figures in our lives are our aunts, cousins, teachers, and mentors. All in all, we hope these messages spread a feeling of joy and appreciation for everyone observing Mother’s Day today!

What would I do without my Mom? My biggest inspiration, biggest supporter, and best friend. I'm so thankful for all you sacrifice for me and my hopes and dreams as a dancer, I wouldn't be where I am or who I am today without you. Love you so much Mom, I hope I grow up to be at least half the woman you are. Hope you feel celebrated today and every day.

Mom, thank you so much for always encouraging me to be passionate about something I love doing, and for me, that is dance. You have always supported me in my dance journey, from participating in my first recital to getting my first pair of pointe shoes, to performing in the Nutcracker. You have been with me every step of the way. You constantly inspire me to continue dancing no matter what. Thank you for your advice and guidance as I continue to grow as a dancer. Love you!

Dear Mom, Words will never suffice how grateful I am to have you as a mom. You are everything and more of what a mother should be, and an amazing role model of how a woman should carry herself. Your spirit is kind and genuine and it can light up a room. I’m leaving for college soon and because of you, I feel prepared and destined for greatness. Thank you for all you do! Happy Mother’s Day! I love you! forever & always, Madison

MY MOM IS A LIVING FORCE! She chose to be a single mom and she sacrifices so much for me every day. She has a LOT to deal with such as taking care of my health challenges, paying for my hearing aids, rent, and making sure we have food on the table. Many dancers have a photographer to shoot dance pictures, but my mom takes mine and she is SO gifted at her talent. Thank you, mom, for adopting me at birth and for NEVER giving up on me!! Happy Mother’s Day.

Happy Mothers’ Day, Mommy! For the last 13 years and counting, you’ve been the best dance mom ever! You’ve sewn and pancaked my ballet shoes, bought multiple pairs of pointe shoes, tights, and much more, on several occasions. Times when I wasn’t confident about auditions or performances, you were there to encourage me. You have never missed a performance of mine. I know there haven’t been many times where I told you, thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Thank you so much! I truly appreciate everything. I love you!

Happy Mothers Day to the absolute best mother in the world! You have watched and helped me grow from a baby to the person that I am today. You helped me realize the greatness of stepping out of my comfort zone, and what opportunities it can lead to. I hope your mothers day is just as beautiful as you, Happy Mothers Day to my #1 supporter!

Dear Mom, Thank you for constantly putting us before yourself and for supporting us throughout all our dreams, life decisions, and activities. The hard work and dedication you put into things you care about are inspiring and I hope to have as much drive and determination as you. Thank you for taking care of us, driving us to our events, making sure that we always get to our destinations when you can’t take us there, and for ALWAYS being our biggest supporters. I hope you have an amazing and relaxing mother’s day. Happy mother’s day to all mothers and mother figures.

My mom has been my biggest inspiration for as long as I can remember. I admire her ambition and optimism that never seems to fade. Hearing her laughter brightens my day. She has always been there when I needed her (even if I thought I didn’t). My mom is the reason I’m the person I am today and I am so thankful for the bond that we’ve created with each other.
