The Spring season feels so much like the start of a new year! With the blossoming flowers and refreshing rains, Spring brings on an air of hope, energy, and creativity after months of chilly weather and gloomy skies. We’ve put together a list of 10 Dance Photoshoot Prompts for you to use this Spring to help bring your creativity out of hibernation!

  • Symbolic Meaning

    • Reflect on the symbolic meaning of each photo prompt idea. What does each prompt represent? How can you embody that in your photo?

  • Pose & Angles

    • Get creative with your poses to help represent each photoshoot concept. Experiment with different camera angles to make a unique creation.

  • Set the Scene

    • Are there specific colors that represent each prompt? Will you create your own scene using props and a backdrop, or take the photos outside?

Cherry Blossoms 

If you’re fortunate enough to live in a location with trees that blossom pink and white flowers in the spring, take advantage!

Rain

Of course, you can’t think of spring without thinking of rain. How creative can you get with a dance photo that incorporates rain, rain boots, umbrellas, etc.?

Birds

This could be really fun. Birds come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. They all have different quirks too. How can you represent them using dance in a photo?

Spring Cleaning

What does “clean” mean to you? Symmetrical lines? Monochrome colors? Soap suds?

Spring Harvest

Warm weather means fresh fruits and veggies. How can you take a dance photo that represents a beautiful, delicious spring harvest? What seasonal fruits would you incorporate? Get fun with colors here, too.

Whether it be a bouquet of flowers, a field of flowers in a garden, a flower crown, or posing like a flower, you can come up with some pretty amazing photos using this prompt.

Get into those angles! Point your camera upward so the clouds are your backdrop as you do a jumping pose, or represent clouds and the sky another way.

You may need to wake up pretty early for this one, but fog, dew, and after-rain mist makes for a dreamy photoshoot opportunity.
