Rayne and the Yellow Dress. was created to provide a pathway for parents and educators to
discuss topics of colorism, hair texture, and body image with African American children; thoughtfully assisting young women with gaining total acceptance of self and celebrating diversity.
Ten-year-old Rayne can’t wait to see her new pink Easter dress. She can’t wait to finally wear something other than yellow, the color she wears every Easter.
In this confidence building tale, Rayne discovers that her sun-kissed skin shines bright in any color.
Meet Special guests, RSB Ballerina, Ms. Mackenzie Spicer, star of the upcoming Ballet supporting this effort, and Brown Girls do Ballet Ambassador, Ballerina Ms. Gabrielle Lilly.

Brown Girls Do Ballet is an organization, founded by TaKiyah Wallace-McMillian, designed to promote diversity in the arts by providing annual scholarships, a mentor network and community programs to empower young girls. Founded in 2013, BGDB has been providing resources to underrepresented populations by offering assistance in ballet development and training.
Dance Etc. supports this mission and welcomes the opportunity to continue providing services with the help of Brown Girls Do Ballet.
